Our firm has been recognized for its Pro Bono work

The British publication Latin Lawyer and the Cyrus Vance Center for International Justice of the New York City Bar Association acknowledged Bullo Tassi Estebenet Torassa Lipera Abogados as one of the firms who leads in their commitment to Pro Bono work in Latin America. This publication collected the information among 80 firms from 15 countries, highlighting the Pro Bono work performed during the year 2012, based on its high degree of involvement in the practice and founded in the amount of hours that the law firm dedicated to the Pro Bono activity, the relevance of the cases managed, the economic support of the firm to efficiently fulfill the tasks and the effort in the institutionalization of this practice.

International Bar Association´s Annual Conference

Our law firm participated in different Events at the 2013 International Bar Association’s Annual Conference in Boston. Carlos Estebenet spoke at a panel organized by the Insurance Committee called “Settlement through mediation of insured claims”. Mariano de Estrada, Vice-Chair of the Consumer Litigation Committee, acted as co-chair in a session on international product liability called “Chasing the Seller” and finally Francisco Roggero was speaker at a session on the future of the profession called “Preparing for the Future” session that was jointly organized by the International Bar Association and the Program on the Legal Profession from Harvard Law School.
Occupational Hazard Law today

An Academic Panel on “Occupational Hazard Law today”, jointly organized by “Asociación Argentina de Derecho del Trabajo y de la Seguridad Social” and “Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires” was held in Buenos Aires on September 25, 2013. The panelists were Jorge Bermudez (member of the Asociación, university professor, and former judge of the National Labour Court of Appeals), Horacio Schick (Labour law specialist, founding partner of Estudio Schick Law Firm and author of several books and papers related to the issue), and Gonzalo Dabini (post-graduate course professor and partner at Estudio Bulló, Tassi, Estebenet, Lipera, Torassa & Asociados Law Firm). The panel was moderated by Ricardo Foglia, director of the Labour Law Department at Austral University, and author of several books and papers on the subject.

Supreme Court decision allowing consumers’ class actions

On 21.08.2013 the Supreme Court issued a ruling in the case “PADEC v Swiss Medical” stating that a consumer association is entitled to file a class action suit on behalf a class of customers against a health insurance company.
